“ If anyone teaches a different doctrine and does not agree with the sound words of our Lord Jesus Christ and the teaching that accords with godliness, he is puffed up with conceit and understands nothing. He has an unhealthy craving for controversy and for quarrels about words, which produce envy, dissension, slander, evil suspicions, 5 and constant friction among people who are depraved in mind and deprived of the truth, imagining that godliness is a means of gain.”
As a servant must honor his master, so we, must honor those in authority over us. This year’s election will displease many. However, if you are a Christian person, it is your duty to put the kingdom above your political preference. Paul is saying that anyone who disagree and teaches a different doctrine he is puffed up with conceit and understand nothing. These are harsh words to any one who will vote this election. To submit is godliness with contentment. Godliness here is far from a means to gain. We are not to desire that which is beyond sounds words of our Lord Jesus Christ.
May the will of God be stronger and His judgment upon us.
